Orthodontics with Surgery
Surgical orthodontics, or orthognathic surgery, corrects jaw irregularities. This improves a patient’s ability to chew, speak, and breathe, as well as often improve aesthetics. Because moving the jaws also shifts the teeth, surgical orthodontics is often done in conjunction with braces or aligners.
Both orthodontists and oral surgery specialists are needed to properly align the teeth and jaws. Dr. Hanigan and Dr. Doi have a great deal of experience working with oral surgeons to provide the best results possible.
Once you have had your initial consultation at High Plains Orthodontics, if there is an indication that surgery might be part of the solution to alignment concerns, our team will refer you to a surgeon for a consultation and then discuss the complete treatment recommendations with you so you can feel comfortable making your decision for treatment.
